Sometimes all it takes to bring two different genres of music together is an email.
According to Variety, Niall Horan revealed that he reached out to country star Maren Morris via email to see if she’d sing on a track called “Seeing Blind,” which will appear on his forthcoming debut solo album.
Maren says she “happily accepted” Niall’s invitation to sing on the track, which Variety describes as having an “acoustic base… along with an infectious chorus accentuated by Morris’ vocals.”
Niall played the song at Capitol Congress, a Hollywood gathering this week that previewed what Capitol Records has coming up in the near future. At the same event, Sam Smith gave a bit of an update on his long-awaited second album, reports Variety. He said he worked on new material in Nashville, and he and his co-writer, Jimmy Napes, came up with more than 130 songs.
No word on when Sam’s new album will be out.
