Taylor Swift certainly didn’t look like a woman scorned — or perhaps a woman who just dumped her boyfriend — Friday night in New York City. She was front row at the Tommy Hilfiger runway show at New York’s Fashion Week, cheering on her model BFF, Gigi Hadid, and singing along to a certain hit by a certain ex.
Gigi confirmed to Entertainment Tonight that Taylor’s making new music, saying of the superstar’s attendance at the show, “She’s obviously such a great friend, and y’know, she is starting to go back to work in the studio again, and really made time to be here for me, and I am so grateful for that.”
Taylor wasn’t just supporting Gigi walking the runway: she was supporting the model’s new nautical-inspired collaboration with Hilfiger. The singer sat in the front row with another pal, Marsha Hunt, and Instagrammed herself singing along to “This Is What You Came For.” That’s the hit song by her ex-boyfriend Calvin Harris, which Taylor secretly co-wrote under an assumed name.
“SO PROUD OF YOU GIGI!!!! That show was INSANE. Congrats to Gi, Tommy, and all the girls who just owned that runway!!” she captioned her video.
The fashion show appearance was Taylor’s first official public outing since her alleged breakup with her OTHER ex-boyfriend, Tom Hiddleston, who she’d dated for three months. The two reportedly split earlier this week.
Taylor’s general pattern of releasing music every two years like clockwork has been somewhat interrupted this year: by this time in 2014, she’d already released “Shake it Off,” and was preparing to drop 1989 in October. The fact that she’s back in the studio is good news indeed, and with all the drama between her, Tom, Calvin, Kim and Kanye, she’s got plenty to write about.
